"Libido is appetite in its natural state." — Carl Jung
Hey Beautiful People!
How are you feeling? It’s day 4 of our 30 day reset and I’m going to assume some of you are already feeling immensely better, even if it’s just been 4 days. It’s pretty amazing how once we choose to make some minor changes to our health routines, lots can change very quickly.
It’s also very normal if you’re not feeling any sort of change at all! Sit tight, don’t give up. These things do take time, and no doubt if you cut some nasties out of your diet, you may be experiencing some withdrawals 😜 Especially if you chose to cut out sugar, chocolate, coffee or alcohol.
Please share how you are feeling with me, I would love to hear from you in the comments below! Challenges? Questions? Wins? It’s all welcome ❤️ I also wanted to say how much I’ve loved reading about your intentions last week. Wow, we have some amazing people in this community, you’ve totally inspired me!
Personally, I’ve found the last 3 days harder than I thought! And I have a confession - I didn’t do my exercise commitment on all days, and I was pretty slack with eating well, too.
On Saturday Nick left at 4.30am to go surfing down south for the day. This was one of his Father’s Day presents, to have an entire day to himself to surf! So from sunrise to sunset I was with my two littlies, and had absolutely ZERO time to jump on my trampoline.
Then yesterday we had a family day for Father’s Day. We arrived at a restaurant for lunch with friends. I was looking forward to a delicious wholesome meal (I was starving) and instead all they served was beer and sausage rolls/pies! Turns out it was a brewery, not a restaurant. I WAS SO MAD lol. I had to eat, otherwise I would’ve blown up with how hangry I was (hungry + angry = HANGRY 🤪), so Nick got me a sausage roll. Yuck. I hate that type of shitty food. But I ate it cos I needed food (this breastfeeding Mumma has one hell of an appetite).

So the weekend was a mega fail, plus my cravings for sugar were UP! My win is that I didn’t give in and buy the cookie I wanted at my local coffee shop! I just stuck to a coffee.
TODAY IS A NEW DAY!!
Here’s how I’m going to prepare for the reset better this week so I have more success. I’m going to do a big butcher order this morning. Our local organic butcher delivers, which is amazing. We usually do a big order and freeze heaps. I’m looking forward to stocking up on some good quality protein so that I’m prepared and not HANGRY lol. I’ll chuck a cut of beef into the slow cooker overnight for tomorrow, this will ensure we have quality protein ready to go. Random fact, breastfeeding women need 3 x the amount of protein as non-breastfeeding women? Yep! So I’ve gotta UP my protein!
Off topic, did you know I was vegetarian for 20 + years? I was strict vego. Then about 6 years ago when I met Nick I started to crave meat. So I listened to my body and started eating little bits at a time … and LOVED it. And felt like a whole new woman!! No joke - energy levels up, my body shape changed, I didn’t need to snack all day, my bloating disappeared … so many great changes.
Anyhow back on topic, I’m also going to bake something sweet and healthy today - maybe a loaf of the banana bread recipe below, so I have a good sweet snack to keep me going (I love putting HEAPS of butter on this FYI, butter is a great source of yummy fat, and fat is good for us).
With exercise, I’m going to change my goal to do 10 mins of rebounding any time of the day, not just in the morning. This gives me more flexibility to get my movement in each day.
Okay, enough about me! I’ll continue to share each week in this way, hopefully next Monday I have more WINS than challenges to report to you 😜
Oops, I nearly forgot to tell you about September 1st! I kicked off the reset in style by visiting our friend’s new luxury bathhouse, Native State. Wow, this place is something else! I highly recommend a visit if you live on the Gold Coast or Northern Rivers, Australia. Here’s the link! I loved the big sauna room and the cold plunge, but there’s also a steam room, hot plunge, meditation room and infrared sauna. Soooooooo good for our health!
My Simple Skincare Ritual
Got skin challenges? Our skin is a direct reflection of our health. Personally I know something is off when my skin feels a little funky. I wrote this post a couple of months back about all the products I love to use that make my skin feel wonderful - My Simple Skincare Ritual. Most of the products are natural and Australian made. My fave pick-me-up is the MV Organics clay skin mask and jojoba oil - this is my GO TO.
WORKSHEET:
Is your sex life influenced by your life choices?
Here's a great worksheet I put together at the beginning of the year. I highly recommend completing this soon (if you haven’t already). It's an awesome resource with prompts to help you take an honest look at how different areas of your life might be affecting your sex life. These are questions I personally reflect on regularly, and I believe they're perfect for evaluating where you're at as we hit this Reset.

Audio Interview with Jessie Reimers about essential oils for vitality, libido & sensuality.

IT’S RECIPE TIME!
When I was in hospital with my baby girl in June, a very kind friend of mine baked me a loaf of this banana bread and I enjoyed it every morning as a snack. It’s super healthy, has no sugar in it, and is really delicious. It’s not just great fresh, I stored it in the fridge and toasted it with heaps of butter and honey a few days later. So I thought I’d share it with you today!
Zoe’s Banana Bread
RECIPE:
4 Bananas
4 Eggs
250ml / 1 cup of Macadamia Oil ( I didn’t have Macadamia, so I used coconut)
1 tsp of Salt
1 tsp Baking Powder
1-2 tsp of Vanilla Extract
2-4 tsp Cinnamon
2-4 tsp Mix Spice
+/- 2 tsp Ground Ginger
1 Cup of Oat Bran (I substituted with Ground Linseed or Flaxseed)
2 Cups of Rolled Oats
1/2 cup Desiccated Coconut
Put all the wet ingredients into a food processor and puree until silky smooth.
Add all the fine powders and blitz again till they are completely mixed through.
Add all the dry ingredients in stages – bran and coconut first, oats last. I usually pulse them until the batter is well combined. Try not to puree the oats –it’s better if the mix is a bit chunky in texture so the crumb of the cake is better.
Allow the batter to sit for at least 30 minutes – the oats need to swell up.
Pour into a butter greased and lined cake tin – I use both a loaf and a square tin depending on my mood!
Bake at 180° for 30-35 minutes.
Allow to cool on a cake rack before cutting– I usually slice it up and freeze it because it’s so dense with banana it will go mouldy if left at room temp so if I don’t freeze it I’ll put it in the fridge.
Hot Tips:
It’s great as breakfast bread– just warm it in a skillet with butter and drizzle with honey!
It also makes great muffins or friands– just adjust the cooking time to 15-20 minutes depending on the size of the muffin cup.
I’ve also subbed the banana for cooked pumpkin (1 small butternut) + 1/2 cup of Psyllium + lots of fresh finely mined/grated ginger … makes a fantastic Gingerbread.

Loooved this podcast #110!
Hi Juliet. Lovely to read the update. I’m really enjoying my subscription and this community, thank you for that 🙏🏻 I am not participating in the reset though because I have Covid and I already made intentions a few weeks ago haha. I do find it motivating to read about what everyone else is doing 💛
Have a good week!!
