Day 25 of the 30 Day Libido & Vitality Reset!
Body image, self-acceptance, my health pivots, secrets of healthy libido, and more ✨
"Nourishing yourself in a way that helps you blossom in the direction you want to go is attainable, and you are worth the effort." — Deborah Day
Wow, it’s the final week of our reset! Twenty-five days of resetting and intention setting, and here we are.
Firstly, how are you? How are you feeling? I’d love to hear from you. Even if you just joined us, or perhaps your reset isn’t going as planned, comment below and let’s connect ❤️
This month has been a big one for me. It’s nearly been 4 months since I birthed our baby girl, Magnolia. Four months since I was 30 weeks pregnant and my waters unexpectedly broke and I ended up birthing her in hospital (far from my plan to birth at home like I did with our son, Sol).
To be honest I think this past month is the first month that the sleep loss and stress of her early arrival has kicked in, which has made it the perfect month to focus on my health. I began to notice me energy dipping, and libido dropping, so I chose to cut out sugar and wheat, with tiny treats every now and then for good measure. My treats have been the occasional Loco Love chocolate (relatively healthy, but still a hit of choc!), and the occasional quiche from the bakery. Oh, and a coconut ice cream each Saturday at the markets. I’ve not once felt guilty or shamed myself when I’ve enjoyed a little treat - all in good measure, I say!
I think my biggest challenge this month has been exercise! I intended on rebounding every morning however now that Magnolia is waking more often, I’ve found it harder to take time out. So I’ve pivoted from my original intention and have begun taking her walking in the morning instead! I either put her in the pram, or in the carrier, and go walking for at least 30 minutes. This gives me an opportunity to be in nature, plus listen to a podcast and take some time out. To be honest I think walking is actually better for my mental AND physical health than rebounding, so it’s a win!
The other thing I added in last week was a private pilates class! I’ve booked in my teacher who used to teach the group classes I went to, and we begin next week. TICK!! I’m also trying a Mums ‘n Bubs pilates class this Wednesday - hopefully I love it because then I can do pilates 2 x week and take Magnolia with me (which is my highest priority right now).
So there’s my health updates - I could’ve chosen to focus on the challenges, but instead I’ve just pivoted and am happy with myself that I’m taking baby steps (lol, literally) to feel better!
Oh and how could I forget … my libido is up a bit! Not heaps, which is common when breastfeeding and being up in the night with a newborn, but I definitely have the drive there to connect with Nick sexually, which I love.
Other highlights this month:
Planting Magnolia’s placenta under a mandarin tree on our property (this was a very special ritual). See a little video here.
Taking time to reflect on what next for me in business and life in general! Nick and I have been talking lots about our 5 year plan, and refining our vision for the future as a family. As a result, I’m adding something new alongside my other offerings! It’s a total change, and a little unexpected, but I’m excited at what the opportunity can do for us as a family! I’ll be sharing more later this week. Comment below if you want to be the first to know and I’ll reply soon with a link with more info. I can’t wait to share with you ❤️
So here we are. In the last week of a month of choosing something different for our health and for our life. Congrats for being here, for choosing you, and for prioritising you libido and vitality :) I appreciate you all so much, and I truly do love this community that we’ve created together.
Lots of love! Juliet xo
